Daily Routine

9.00am Doors open and children are signed in
9.05am A variety of activites are availiable for the children to play with including water, painting, books, play dough, structured themed craft, construction and role play. This is followed by 'Tidy Up Time' in which all the children are encouraged to help.

Singing / Story time

Snack time. This is based on encouraging children to eat healthily and try out new foods. They are provided with water or milk and a variety of fruit and salad vegetables followed by a biscuit. The children are encouraged to sit together at the table and this is a good opportunity for the children to interact with each other.
10.45am Physical Play. This session changes on a daily basis and may include musical instruments, bikes, pushchairs, balls, etc
11.00am Parents and Carers are asked to be back on the premises at this time but are very welcome to watch or join in with the children's play. This is also an ideal opportunity to chat with staff and Committee Members and to view your child's profile.

Whilst at Playgroup

The children are respected as individuals and encouraged to learn and develop at their own pace. Sessions are run to promote self-confidence and initiative as equipment is set out to allow the children to easily identify and choose what they are going to play with next. The needs of individual children are paramount and they are exposed to a variety of experiences that encourage creativity and help to develop confidence and self-esteem.

How we provide for Development and Learning

Children start to learn about the world around them from the moment they are born. The care and education offered by our setting helps children to continue to do this by providing them with interesting activities that are appropriate for their age and stage of development.

The provision for children’s development and learning is guided by The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which is made up of three Prime areas:

And four Specific areas:

All of these areas are connected to one another and are equally important.

Learning and Playing Together

We are all partners in your children's care and education and hope that you will enjoy your time with us and come to think of us as your friends. You are encouraged to become involved in the Playgroup as much or as little as you would like. We welcome regular helpers at Playgroup sessions of Mums, Dads, Grandparents, Childminders, etc.

We also welcome help in small ways such as washing towels, dressing up clothes, toys, etc. Remember that we are self-funding and any offers of assistance help us to keep the prices down!

Please would you bring:

Any nappies and wipes that may be required and a full change of clothes (including socks!) in case of any little accidents. Please can these be named and in a bag to hang on your child's peg. We do provide aprons and paint and glue we use is washable but please DO NOT bring your child in 'best' clothes.
